The results are published in the December 2012 issue the Journal Antiquity, against earlier findings that suggested a small bluestone built and raised first. According to Robert Ixer, the invention relies on a statistical method to obtain historical date when the stones were placed, turning facts and ideas about an ancient civilization who spent hundreds of years building every part of Stonehenge. It is likely that the construction of Stonehenge in just a few generations or more faster than previously expected.
